Rolling Monopod for FARO Orbis
We’re always on the lookout for clever field setups that make scanning faster and cleaner. A fellow FARO Orbis user recently shared a hardware combo that solved a common nuisance in tight spaces, and we wanted to pass it along to the rest of the group.
They’ve been pairing their Orbis with the Sunwayfoto T1A20R Monopod Dolly, a heavy-duty rolling stand with smooth rubber wheels, and it has drastically improved their indoor capture speed.
Why this setup stands out:
- Ghost-Free Flash Scans: Getting a clear Field of View (FOV) during stationary Flash scans usually means awkward repositioning. With a stable rolling base, you can wheel the Orbis into place, step completely out of the frame, and trigger the scan without having to hold or balance the pole.
- Seamless Mobile Transition: The heavy-duty rubber wheels let you glide smoothly between scan points while remaining in continuous mobile scanning mode.
- Tailored for Tight Layouts: It shines in high-density indoor spaces like retail stores, branch banks, and narrow corridors where traditional tripod legs get in the way.
If you’re looking to streamline your indoor workflows, you can check out the hardware specs directly on the Sunwayfoto T1A20R Monopod Dolly product page.
If you need to capture above-ceiling spaces, we have a solution for that too. Contact us for more details.
